Game 4 - Harlow Hill Res v Boroughbridge A
Game 3 - Harlow Hill Res 5 - 0 Burley Trojan Res Ord, Wilkinson, Duncan, Hewitson, Waters
With Harlow Res really confident they started with a goal after just 1min 2 secs. The corner came in came off the Burley defender to Jamie Ord who slotted it into the top corner for an early lead. The second came shortly after a croos at the Burley keeper saw him flap like a sparrow and Luke Duncan claimed the second. Just before half time Harlow got a third a Lee Wilkinson cross saw the Burley keeper push the ball into his own net all that was missing was a Harlow shirt for the unlucky Keeper!! The second half started with Harlow trying to add to their tally but a combination of missed chances and the keeper trying to redeem himself Harlow could not capatalise. It wasn't until late on when Hewitson was through on goal and slotted home to make it 4, with Waters adding a 5th right at the death. Hopefully Harlow can carry on this form into the Boroughbridge game.
Game 2 - Harlow Hill Res 3-1 Kirkby Malzeard Res Whitelaw 3
The first half of this game never got going with neither side creating any real chance in a really dull first half. Thankfully the second half was a lot better. Harlow conceded a free kick early in the second half. Westbury stepped up and put the ball over the wall into the bottom corner to give Kirkby the lead. This seemed to lift Harlow and 10 mins later Whitelaw received the ball just inside the box took a shot which clipped the defender and spun into the bottom corner. The second came soon after with Whitelaw again put through to calmly slot home. The game fizzled out a bit then with 15 to go Whitelaw again found himself one on one to place it past the Kirkby Keeper. The cockney Northerner grabbing a well deserved Hat trick and all 3 points to Harlow.
Game 1 - Westbrook YMCA 2 - 2 Harlow Hill Res Hewitson 2
With confidence high Harlow Res kicked off their season with a hard fought point. The first 15 mins neither side seemed to want to take control of the match then out of nowhere Dave Parry picked up the ball just outside the box went on a maizy dribble and was brought down in the box for a penalty. John Hewitson calmly stepped up and slotted it away. The next 10 mins saw Westbrook really having a go then they got the equaliser with a good cross headed home from 8 yards. Harlow responded quickly when Nick Jarrett played a precision ball over the top for Johnny to run onto, round the keeper and calmly get his second goal. The second half was all Westbrook after 10 mins they got their 2nd with great 30 yard strike into the top corner leaving the keeper with no chance. Westbrook piled on the pressure but had shot after shot failing to hit the target once. Then with 10mins to go Johnny had a glorious chance to make it 3-2 only to fire at the keeper. Harlow felt happy to come away with a point.
